Book a pod with us at 56 Arab Street and you’re not just close to Bugis MRT — you’re standing in one of the most walkable, characterful pockets of Singapore. Here’s what’s worth exploring, all within about a 10-minute walk.
Haji Lane
Singapore’s smallest and most photographed shopping street sits just around the corner. Expect a row of pastel-painted shophouses, independent boutiques, vintage stores and mural-covered walls that have made it a favourite backdrop on Instagram and TikTok alike. Come early evening when the street lights up and the cafés spill out onto the five-foot ways.
Masjid Sultan (Sultan Mosque)
The golden-domed Sultan Mosque anchors the Kampong Glam district and is one of Singapore’s oldest and most significant mosques, first built in the 1820s. It’s open to visitors outside of prayer times — modest dress is appreciated, and simple robes are available to borrow at the entrance if needed.
Hawker food along Arab Street & North Bridge Road
This is Kampong Glam’s culinary strength — Middle Eastern grills, Malay nasi padang stalls, and some of the city’s better-known murtabak and briyani spots are all a short stroll away, alongside third-wave cafés if you’re after something lighter.
Bugis Street Market & Bugis Junction
For souvenirs, cheap fashion finds and air-conditioned mall shopping, Bugis Street Market and Bugis Junction are both about a 10-minute walk — useful if the Singapore humidity gets the better of you mid-afternoon.
Getting around from here
Bugis MRT station (served by the East-West and Downtown lines) is roughly 3 minutes on foot from our door, connecting you to Marina Bay, Chinatown, Orchard Road and Changi Airport without needing a taxi. Most of central Singapore’s major sights are within a 15–30 minute train ride.
Base yourself right in the middle of it all.
